((OOC: This is a role-playing thread. Think of it like a story in real time. In this thread, write everything, your speeches, events, etc. in third person. So instead of "I say", you would write "-YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME- says", with -YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME- being, well...Your character. You cannot play another person's character -ie: make them talk or do something. You can only interact with them. Play as many characters as you want. You can bend the laws of Urban Dead to your will and make Urban Dead seem more realistic, but do not go too insane by introducing things beyond the laws of physics and realism, such as laser cannons or giant destructive robot chickens, just to name a few. The only exception to this rule are what will be laid out in this first post, the prologue. Other then the rules listed here, just enjoy yourself and have fun. And let your imagination run free.))
In the zombie infested city of Malton, there lies a building cut off from the other buildings in the city. On the outside, it's looks like any other two story building made of stone. Some letters carved above the large wooden double doors read, "Lamport Walk Police Department".
Past the front doors is the Main Lobby. In the Main Lobby, there sits a single wooden desk with a bell on top of it. A sign on the desk reads, "Please ring bell for service." There is a set of stairs leading up to the second floor.
The second floor of the building is divided into four sections, the four sections being the Office, the Crime Lab, the Evidence Lockers, and the Armory.
The Main Lobby also has four additional doors, each of them leading to a different area on the first floor.
The first door simply leads to a small hallway containing the doors to both the male and female restrooms. The Utility Closet is also located here. The Utility Closet contains the building's breaker box. The breaker box is locked, and a hastily scribbled note taped to the breaker box reads, "Please keep the power off."
The second door leads to the Mess Hall. At the back of the Mess Hall is the kitchen.
The third door leads to a hallway containing thirteen interrogation rooms. At the end of this hallway is another door leading to the holding cells.
At first glance, it may look as if Lamport Walk Police Department is simply just another Police Department, but the real secrets of the building lies beyond the forth door. The forth door has a sign that reads, "AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY". Beyond this door is a second flight of stairs that leads into the basement. The basement of Lamport Walk Police Department is completely white. There is nothing here except for a single dark circular fog-like thing in the far corner of the room. This dark circular fog-like thing is a Corridor of Darkness, or in other words, a portal that leads to somewhere that does not exist on any map of Malton.
This Corridor of Darkness leads to large wedge-shaped room known as the Grey Area, and unlike the basement of Lamport Walk Police Department, this room is completely grey. The room is decorated with two tables and three sofas, all of them white. One of the walls is actually a glass window, and looking out it gives a breathtaking view of a city that is not Malton whose buildings are completely black and decorated with neon lights. A heart-shaped moon looks down on this city, as it is always night time in this city.
The Grey Area simply serves as a lounging area for members of a group called Organization XIII, a group whose sole purpose is to maintain an everlasting balance between survivors and zombies in Malton.
On the opposite wall of the window, there is one single open entryway. This leads to a hallway known as the Proof of Existence. This hallway is simply made up of blue doorways in the shape of Organization XIII's insignias. There are as many doorways as there are members of Organization XIII. Each doorway simply leads to a bedroom, one for each member of Organization XIII.
A single member of Organization XIII walks out one of the bedrooms and goes to relax on one of the sofas in the Grey Area.

Kirsty wakes up some time just after noon. Her mind flashes: first puzzle boxes, then keys, then finally beer. She settles on the beer. She steps out of her room and into the lounge area. She notices someone sitting on the sofa, but isn't yet awake enough to really care whom. She walks to the portal and soon finds herself in Lamport PD, again. She reaches for the light switch. Nothing happens and she remembers where she is. There are a few random survivors standing around in the Main Lobby, but she doesn't pay much attention as she walks by. She does notice some blood stains on the floor and thinks "need to get Jayson to work on getting those cleaned up."
Kirsty enters the Mess Hall and passes through on her way to the kitchen. She swings open the icebox door, noticing the ice block is nearly melted, she grabs an IPA. Over at the counter, she grabs a bottle opener and cracks open the bottle. She hesitates for a second then grabs a second IPA and opens it. As she walks back to the Grey Area, she detours to the evidence locker, where she hides her weapons. Pistols and shotguns are thrown haphazardly into the locker, but everything looks okay.
Kirsty leaves the evidence lockers and walks back to the Grey Area. Along the way she finishes her first beer and starts on the second. Another trip through the portal and she is standing in a hallway. She thinks again of puzzle boxes and portals, but the thoughts quickly recede as she notices the person on the sofa again.
She walks to the sofa and says, "Good morning...."

The person on the sofa, who is engrossed in a book titled, "The Idiot's Guide to Cosplaying", says, without looking up from his book, "I do hope you cleaned that mess you made in Lamport's lobby last week before stealing my beer again, Kirsty." Jayson looks up from his book.
"Of course, if you'd rarher I clean your mess, we could settle this with a game."
Jayson puts his book down and takes out a deck of playing cards.
"Say...A round of Blackjack?"

A loud crash echoes around the Grey Area. A moment later Merondi stands up, in her usual white cloak with the hood pulled completely down. She had been busy admiring the headquarters, and didn't realize the Portal of Darkness in the basement was... a Portal of Darkness. Until she stepped in it.
She notices there were witnesses to her fall. "Sorry. First time using a Portal... Hope I didn't break anything."
She shuffles over to the bedrooms, noticing the cards in Jayson's hands. "I'd play, but it was a long night, or day, for me." Merondi disappears into the doorway of her room with a bow and peace settles again in the Grey Area.

Nicknackpaddywack, or Nicknack to his friends wandered into the grey area from the portal, an empty shotgun in each hand, still warm from his activities.
He dropped the shotguns on the floor and face planted the empty sofa, he smelt of blood, gun powders and scotch. Ignorant or those around him, Nicknack rolled over to face the celling 'I see dead people' he muttered to himself and shut his eyes.
A worn and blood stained book of film quotes stuck out of his pocket. An empty scotch bottle stuck out of the other pocket. He muttered something else about it being quiet down south but this was more to himself then to those sat around him.

Kirsty looks Jayson over and says, "Sure, blackjack it is." She looks over to Nicknack, "You want in too?" she asks. In her pocket she runs her hands over an identical set of cards.
"I just need a moment." She says before heading to her room. Once inside she sorts the cards based on value and slips them back into her pocket. She walks back to where Jayson is reading.
"You guys ready?"

Jayson deals the cards, one faceup and one facedown, to each person. The three faceup cards dealt were a King of Hearts and two Ace of Spades. Jayson looks at the cards.
"Um...That is so totally not my fault."

Necro yawned as he jingled with large collection of used needles. Normally this would be a sign of a druggie. However in this zombie filled world it was merely a sign of someone with connections with the NecroTech company.
Normally a police station wouldn't be a preferred place for the scientist but safety is better than emotional values. He had been meaning to make a run for both medical supplies and anti-zombie drugs but so far he hadn't gotten far with his searches.

Kirsty looks at the cards and thinks that's odd since she still has all her cards in her pocket. Then she looks to Necro and thinks it odd he has needles rather than guns. Finally she looks at her down card, it says "Discard this card."
"Hmm, I guess I'll take a card."
She goes ahead and sorts through the deck in her pocket, 13 cards later, should be a 10 she thinks. She cups the card in her hand and slowly raises it, keeping it just under the table.

Jayson looks at his facedown card.
"A joker?", Jayson thinks to himself after seeing his facedown card is a joker.
Jayson gets up and says, "You know what? Screw this game. I'll clean up. Besides, I do need ammo as well. If you two wish to play amongst yourselves, I'm not stopping you."
Jayson hops in the portal and wanders his way to the Utility Closet. He grabs a mop and bucket and heads back into the Main Lobby and mops up the bloody mess Kirsty had made just a week earlier.
Jayson plops the mop against the wall in the main lobby after cleaning up. He is obviously too lazy to put it back. He takes out his pistol, a CZ-75 Compact, and ejects the pistol clip. Jayson frowns.
"One shot, huh? Not gonna be able to do much with one shot."
Jayson heads up to the Evidence Lockers.
"Let's see, there's usually some confiscated weapons in here. Much better then the Police weapons in the Armory..."
Jayson starts opening random lockers. After fifteen minutes of searching, Jayson find Kirsty's stash of weapons.
"Eureka!"
Jayson looks around, swapping his spare empty pistol clips with the loaded clips in Kirsty's 9mm pistols.
"Oh snap! Is that the SPAS-12?"
Jayson picks up one of the shotguns in the stash and admires it.
"It is! I've always wanted a SPAS-12!"
Jayson shuts the locker close, walking away with a fresh supply of loaded pistol clips for his CZ-75 Compact and the SPAS-12. He grabs a pair of binoculars off the front desk in the Main Lobby and leaves Lamport Walk Police Department to do some scouting in Gatcombeton.

Necro put his needles back on his belt before checking his weapons. Despite his choice of weapons, Necro was actually pretty good at collecting them. Other than a pistol and a knife, he put the rest of it into the station's armory.
A soft giggle came from Necro's lips as he listened to his radio. Most of it was gibberish but obviously the other side was having trouble with zombie attacks "Good thing I managed to switch their radio signal when I went by. Sounds so wonderful." he stated calmly as he used his free hand to slide his blade against the floor. At least he wasn't tearing up the sofa.

Jayson returns to the Grey Area days later. He throws the SPAS-12 at Kirsty, who was napping on the couch.
"You can have that. I was never a shotgun person anyways."

Necro yawned as he awoke from his lenghty nap. It took him a few minutes to fully awake and absorb the environment. A soft hiss escaped from his lips as he picked up his radio. For some reason the small electronic box was still sprouting information and curses from other survivors.
The annoying voices caused Necro to throw the radio out the nearest window. He didn't even wait long enough to hear it shatter before he returned to the sofa. Despite whatever the long slumber, nothing appeared to have changed. Of course that seemed impossible but honestly Necro couldn't have cared less.

Merondi opens her eyes at the sound of a crash outside. She looks out her window, and seeing nothing, assumes it was a passing zombie. She wanders back into the Grey Area, yawning after a long hibernation in her room.
She notices people dozing on the couches, but is immediately distracted by a metallic glint.
Leaping over a couch, she lands next to the shotgun.
"Is... That... A... SPAS-12?"
She reverently grabs the gun and begins appraising it. "Incredible!... The feeding ramp is polished to a mirror sheen, the interlock with the frame is tightened for added precision... Not only that... Nearly every part of this gun has been expertly crafted and customized... This is the gun I've been looking for! Where did you find something like this?" she asks Kirsty, who appears to be sleeping.
"Sorry," Merondi apologizes, slinging the shotgun over her shoulder. "I'll return this soon, but I can't resist. Now I just need to find tear gas rounds to fit this thing... Mwahahahaha...."
Merondi jumps into the portal, rubbing her hands eagerly at the carnage about to happen.
